Chromium 6

Chromium 6 was found last week in soil from a northwest Missouri farm according to state and federal environmental agencies.
Although the finding has been confirmed, officials said there is no potential for health risks.
“We’ll know a lot more after the next round of testing,” Scott Clardy of Missouri’s Department of Health and Senior Services said at a press conference.
Many lawsuits in the last few years were filed against a fiber insulation manufacturing plant in St. Joseph, Missouri that may be spreading sludge contaminated by chromium in the area.
Chromium 6 is a harmful substance that has been reported to cause certain forms of cancer, but the low amount in the soil is said to be causing little risk for brain tumors.
