Humboldt County Farm Bureau Accepting Applications

California is one of the top agriculture states in the country and Humboldt County Farm Bureau is offering scholarships to high school seniors and college students residing in Humboldt County to further grow the industry.
Three scholarships are available for students majoring or minoring in an agriculture or agriculture-related program at a four-year or junior college. The farm bureaus is offering about $70,000 to interested students.
The first scholarship available is the Henri and Janette Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is available to any residential students and is supported through a fund created as a memorial to former farm bureau members.
Another scholarship available is the Forestry Production Scholarship. This is intended for a student interested in joining a forest management or natural resources program. Students must attend a college at the Redwoods, Humboldt State University, The University of California or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
The Humboldt County Wool Growers Association Scholarship is also sponsoring a scholarship to students with a livestock background as well as an agriculture-related major.
Applications are due to the Humboldt Farm Bureau on April 1, 2011. Applications and further information can be found here.
