Details about the USDA’s new program, Dairy Product Price Support Program, have been released.
Senator Amy Klobuchar supported the bill that provides $350 million to dairy farmers who are struggling as dairy prices dwindle.
Klobuchar said, “It’s good news for our dairy farmers. They’ve been struggling all over the state. It’s been a bug nationwide problem; dairy has been one of the backbones of Minnesota agriculture, and we want to make sure we keep dairy farmers in Minnesota.”
She added, “The change in prices would bring approximately an additional $1.50 per hundredweight to struggling farmers.”
