Twitter and Facebook for Producers

Many agriculture extension offices and farm bureaus across the country are offering programs to teach producers how to utilize social networking sites to improve their businesses.
Today many state farm bureaus, agencies and groups have Twitter and Facebook accounts and use the tools as a gateway between the agencies and producers or consumers.
Producers who set up accounts can utilize these sites the same way. It is an easy way for consumers to ask questions about where their food is coming from as well as a way for producers to network with each other.
Facebook and Twitter accounts are free, if you have questions on setting up an account and utilizing it to the max, contact your local farm bureau.  There are also useful Power Point presentations and resources online such as Discover Your Social Web: An Ohio Farm Bureau Guide to Social Media from The Ohio Farm Bureau.
