USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack announced $117.3 million in water and environmental project loans available from the Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“Recovery Act projects are helping rural communities of all sizes build a foundation for economic strength, future prosperity, and a healthy environment,” Vilsack said. “The 31 water and waste water projects we’re announcing today are helping to achieve the Obama Administration’s economic recovery goals to rebuild the nation’s infrastructure while creating and retaining jobs.”
The money will be used for programs and research in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Montana, New York, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Vermont for conservation and environmental improvements.
