The Monterey County Farm Bureau and Central Coast Young Farmers, subcommittees of the Monterey County Farm Bureau, is awarding four students agriculture scholarships at the annual Harvest Dance on October 30.
Students applied in may for $2,000 and $1,500 scholarships in May. Each student had to submit an application alongside an essay that required students to “describe how you intend to sustain the economic viability of your operation.â€
Two four-year university students will be awarded $2,000 scholarships and two junior-college students will receive $1,500 scholarships.
The Harvest Dance is scheduled at the Paraiso Vineyards in Soledad and tickets are $40 each. The proceeds will benefit the Ag Against Hunger program and Monterey County Farm Bureau and Central Coast Young Farmers scholarships for next year.
