The Chemung County Agriculture Society and Cornell Cooperative is offering scholarships to students seeking a future career in agriculture.
High school seniors and college students at a four- or two-year accredited college or university who are active members of the Chemung County Fair can apply for one of ten $1,000 scholarships offered for the 2012 school year.
Students must be active members with a passion for agriculture and community. Those with high academic standings, extracurricular activities and leadership experience are the most likely candidates for these scholarships.
The scholarships, sponsored by the New York State Association of Agriculture Fairs and New York State Show People’s Association, are fund raised throughout the year.

All applications are due by April 1, 2011. Applications can be sent to Chemung county 4-H, 425 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY 14904.
