Commission Votes to Hear Pot Farm Proposal

Though marijuana farms are banned in Colorado, a proposal for a pot farm outside of Longmont will move forth. The farm, which would be located north of Longmont, was proposed before the ban went into effect.
Boulder County officials will view and review the proposal, but neighbors aren’t happy and vow to continue fighting the plans.
A vote of 3 to 0 by the commission agreed to hear the proposal and hold a public meeting about the 67-acre project. Here neighbors can express their opinions and feelings. The farm would sit near a neighborhood of multi-million dollar homes.
Neighbors fear the pot farm would lower the value of their Laramie, Wyoming homes and attract unwanted attention from customers and media. An organic egg farm occupied the land for many years before selling to the current owners.
Marijuana is illegal in most states aside from the use of medical marijuana in some states.
